Funeral service for the late Unique Gilkes will be held on Thursday June 16, 2016 at Premier Baptist Church (1014 Utica Avenue (Corner of Tilden), Brooklyn, NY 11203. There will be a viewing held from 5 to 7 pm with the service beginning at 7pm.

Special Info  Unique Tyler Gilkes , also known as “Tali”, was born on June 5th, 1991 at St. Mary’s Hospital to Michelle Love and Unique Tyler. Unique was raised by his Grandparents, the late Josephine Love-Gilkes and Ulric Gilkes. Unique was called home on Sunday, June 5th 2016 at the age of 25. Unique attended New York City Public Schools and went on to Job Corps Academy where he graduated with his High School Diploma, and earned a trade in Security. Unique had a gold heart and would do anything for his family and friends. During his spare time, he enjoyed playing videos games and listening to music. He had dreams of becoming an entrepreneur and opening a chain of barbershops. Unique is a loving and dedicated father. He adored his daughter Brooklynn “Brookie” whom which he had the pleasure of sharing his birthday with. Brooklynn was the light of his life. In September, he was blessed with his son Logan “Loggie”. During the past eight months he spent a lot of time building a special bond with Logan. Logan was his world. Unique’s children were the influences that gave him a different perspective on life. He had great plans for their future and wanted nothing but the best for them. A man full of love, Unique was very family oriented. His brothers and sisters were inseparable. Where there was one, another was never too far behind. Always wanting a big and close-knit family, Unique’s love extended to a special group of friends who he grew up with and who was affectionately known as the “Tanas”. In the time of diversity, Unique was the glue that kept the family together. Unique was preceded by his grandmother, Josephine Love-Gilkes and his maternal uncle Robert “Bobby” Love. He leaves to cherish his memory, his grandfather (Dad) Ulric Gilkes, his parents Michelle Love and Unique Tyler, his fiancée Diamond Santos, his children Brooklynn S. Gilkes and Logan U. Gilkes, his siblings, Gregory “Boo” Love, Iesha Rolland, Lashawn Love, Donnell Thomas, and Diamond Powell, his nephews Sinceer Love and Msami Love, his nieces Mi’Esha Love, My’Nasha Moorer, and Brielle Simmons, his Uncles Eric”E” Love and Anthony “Tony” Love, his Godson Asiyah Hoyte, a few close friends, Naquan, Basheer, and Ralphie, and a host of paternal family, cousins, and friends. Unique will be truly missed
