The viewing for the late Marita L. Rapelyea will take place on Friday, July 24, 2026, at David Williams Funeral Service located at 108-20 Sutphin Blvd, Jamaica, NY 11435. The viewing will be held from 4pm-6pm. Please give your condolences to the Rapelyea family.

Marita L. Rapelyea, affectionately referred to as "the baby of the bunch" was born to Eloise (Williams) and Horace Gilmore Rapelyea on July 9th, 1971 in Queens, New York.
Marita attended Mary Immaculate RC school in Jamaica Estates and Hillcrest High School in Jamaica Queens.She loved helping people and worked as a Medical office manager at Nassau Medical Center and a private doctor's office. She worked many years as a mutual cleck for New York Racings.
Marita Rapelyea loved fashion and would not be caught without her luxurious eye-lashes. She enjoyed shopping in Manhattan finding all the best deals. She wore her high-heels, white shirt, denim jeans or shorts, and signature red lipstick when she went out with her friends. Marita was the definition of "the round the way girl"… a true New Yorker, a slick talker with a smooth voice. She had an infectious smile.
Marita was generous, she was known to take in family and friends. She made some of the best fried chicken and lasagna. Marita loved her family and was the magnet that bought us all together. Marita was a caregiver for our mother, she was her numerous nephews favorite aunt.
There was no greater joy to Marita than her children, Saivon, Thomas "TJ" and Paris. She was a disciplinarian that gave a good tongue lashing when needed. She was proud of the people they are.
Marita accepted God at an early age and was rebaptized 1/10/2026.
Marita had a true fighting spirit. She was never known to back down from a fight. When she was diagnosed with Amyloidosis, no one knew of the disease. She did not give up. She endured countless hospitalizations, procedures, and rehab. She was given 13 months but got 11 years because she fought as hard as she could to be here for her children.
On July 15th, 2025, Marita earned her wings and passed away peacefully. Marita was preceded in death by her father, Horace Rapelyea, her mother Eloise Rapelyea, her sisters Sharon Williams, Mia Outler, and Berkeley Williams. Her brothers, George Bryant and Reginald Williams.
Marita is survived by her sons: Saivon P and Thomas ‘TJ" Rapelyea and her daughter, Paris-Bleu Rapelyea, her sisters, Ethel Marie Stanfanski, Lawana (Bob) Seeman, Chrissy (Anthony) Cintron and Olla McFern, her special friend Timothy Williams, her aunt Mary Ella Kress, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
