Special Info Ivan Hamilton Crichlow was born to Carmen Smith-Crichlow and Fritzcollingwood Crichlow on December 26, 1931 at Colonial Hospital in Port of Spain, Trinidad, BWI.
Although Ivan grew up in Belmont, Trinidad, BWI, life led him across the ocean to London, England. During his time in London, he became a member of the Royal Pioneer Corps where he would become proficient as a marksman while he trained at Hermitage Camp. Upon his departure from the RPC, Ivan would be hired as a Motor Mail Driver for Queen Elizabeth through the London Mails & Transportations Branch. In 1961, Ivan began to work as a truck driver for Acton Bright Steel and then for Robert Deards, Limited. Life would later have Ivan relocate to Montreal, Canada before he settled in Brooklyn, NY, USA.
No matter where life would place Ivan, he always made time to enjoy his favorite people and things in life. He enjoyed being a member of the Plumbers Local Union of Howard Beach, NY, gaining new friends, his privacy, travelling, and dancing as well as donating to charities such as the Children's Cancer Hospital and the Royal Pioneer s Corps Association. All who knew Ivan knew his all-time love was for playing mass at Carnival and beating his iron.
Just as Ivan lived for a good time and often reminisced about being part of "The Crichlow Brothers" alongside his late brothers Alwin and Activist Frank Crichlow as well as all of the good times he experienced, he now leaves to cherish his fondest of memory: his niece, Jacklyn Crichlow aka "Jackie" (Roger) Noriega of Jamaica, NY, USA; his son, Elton Crichlow of Canada, and a host of relatives and loved ones.
