The funeral for the late Euphemia Berica Lewis will take place on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Full Gospel Assembly located at 131 Sullivan Place, Brooklyn, NY. There will be a gathering at 6pm immediately followed by the funeral at 6:30pm.
Funeral cortege will me in front the church on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 9:30am and depart at 10am for burial at Canarsie Cemetery.

Euphemia Berica Lewis, originally from ; Birchgrove, St. Andrew's, Grenada – currently residing at Stroudsburg, P.A. passed away peacefully at her home, on June 10, 2025. In the last few days preceding her death she was surrounded by her loving family and close friends,as she transitioned to glory. Berica, by profession, was a well-respected, dedicated, and inspiring teacher, who has profoundly impacted the lives of her students and many others during the course of her educational and teaching career – a sphere of influence which spanned over four decades, both locally and abroad. She was a proud graduate of Medgar Evers and Brooklyn College, and taught at several educational institutions before retiring in 2024. Berica was a devout Christian, and enjoyed serving the Lord, spending time with her family, traveling, gardening, and simply communing with nature. She was a loving sister, teacher, aunt, friend, and mentor, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Berica is pre-deceased by her parents Mitchell and Catherine Lewis, and is survived by her siblings Michael, (wife Mary), and Benvenuta in the U.K.; Marjorie, Bernarde, and Angelina in the U.S. and June in Trinidad; nephews and nieces including Kathy (Garvin), Junior, Carl, and Darren (Mel) in the U.K., Benedict, (wife Carlie), Reginald (Marsha), and Joshua in the U.S. ; several God –children, grand nieces and grand nephews including Jordan, Brandon, Tamira, Toby, Jordan, Marcus , Kaleb, Morgan, and Malia. Close friends – Roylyn, Christine, Bryan, Beto, Anthony, Imore, Allina , Debbie, The Carter, Lewis, Calliste and Christopher families in Grenada; and the Andrew family in Castries, St Lucia. – many other relatives, friends, and neighbors in Birchgrove and surrounding communities. Including the New Testament Church of God (Birch Grove), Grenville Pentecostal Church, South Jamaica New Testament Church of God (Queens, NY), Lighthouse Full Gospel Church of God (Stroudsburg, PA).
